What does “MiCA-compliant” mean in practice?
A MiCA-compliant stablecoin is one whose issuer has been authorised under MiCA Title IV (for EMTs) or Title III (for ARTs) by an EU national competent authority. In practice that means: 1:1 fiat reserves, segregated bank accounts, audited monthly, and a guaranteed right of redemption at par. It does not mean “endorsed” — it means “supervised.”
Are stablecoin yields taxed in my EU country?
Almost always, yes. Most EU jurisdictions treat yield as ordinary investment income — Germany applies the 26.375% Abgeltungsteuer, France the 30% PFU, Spain 19–28% depending on amount. See our country guides for current rates.
Is my money safe on a custodial platform?
“Safer than self-custody” if the platform holds a MiCA CASP licence and segregates client assets — both checks we run on every platform we list. “Safer than a bank deposit” — no. Stablecoin platforms aren’t covered by the EU’s €100k Deposit Guarantee Scheme.
What happens if a stablecoin loses its peg?
For a MiCA EMT, you have a legal right to redeem 1:1 directly with the issuer regardless of the secondary-market price — that’s the regulatory floor. For non-MiCA stablecoins, there is no such legal floor; the secondary-market price is everything.
How do you make money?
Through clearly labeled, sector-relevant sponsorships — never through rankings. Every sponsored slot is marked, served without trackers, and has zero influence on bands, scores or rate displays. The ad policy is public, and rejected sponsors are logged in the open.
